Save the date: 04 September 2021 – in Darmstadt!
Don’t miss out on this super exciting sporting event for the whole family!
The PLT2 Precision Laser Targets developed and manufactured by Schneider Messtechnik are on their starting blocks and ready for participation in the forthcoming Laser Run event – the sub-discipline of the Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon!
Laser Run is a combination of Running and Shooting with Precision Laser Target PLT2. By the way, it was already in 2019 that the expertise of Schneider Messtechnik was in high demand when PLT2 contributed to the success of the UIPM Global Laser Run City Tour in Darmstadt, Germany.
When the Shooting discipline was first included in Modern Pentathlon, Rapid Fire Pistols were the Shooting equipment worldwide (until 1993), then they were replaced by air pistols (until 2010). “Ever since, only laser shooting equipment has been used. Laser guns emit light and are thus the most environmentally friendly of tools to use in Shooting”, says Dr. Klaus Schormann, President of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM).
For 5 years “running”, the Global Laser Run City Tour (GLRCT) has been travelling around the world, with regualr stopovers in the most diverse towns and cities. This year, the City Tour is scheduled to stop by again in Darmstadt, Germany!
